Why do I need a title 5 inspection?
Any time a home is sold, there is an increase in flow, or change in use.
What happens when I request an inspection?
We will email or send you an estimate for review. Upon acceptance of the estimate we will begin the process of inspecting your septic system. We will contact Dig Safe to mark utilities, check with local board of health and assessor for property records, gather information about interior of home, visit property to expose and inspect your system, and back-fill and rake all affected areas.
How much does a title 5 inspection cost?
Our base price for an inspection is $550.00 Additional costs would be local filing fees or circumstances that would prevent us from performing the inspection (weather or access would be two examples). In some cases a water table evaluation may be required to assess the groundwater elevation in relation to the septic system.
How long does an inspection take?
A septic inspection is usually completed in one day or less. Some more complex inspections may take more than one visit.
How soon do I receive the report?
The report will be available after payment is received and we complete the document at our office.
What is the difference between a title 5 inspection and an assessment?
A title 5 inspection is a formal process of inspecting and documenting a septic system for a sale, expansion, or change in use. An assessment is an informal evaluation of the current condition of the septic system.
